Mercedes Added Voice Recognition To Simplify control climate, comfort settings

The most recent form of Mercedes-Benz's voice initiation framework, known as Linguatronic, will surprisingly enable you to control something beyond the infotainment framework.

Notwithstanding controlling general infotainment capacities, for example, the route or interchanges, Linguatronic will give you a chance to control atmosphere and solace settings. The framework has likewise been refreshed to better comprehend normal talking.

Beginning with the E-Class run, the most recent rendition of Linguatronic will give you a chance to change the aeration and cooling system temperature, blower quality, situate warming and back window demister. Various solace settings can likewise be controlled. For instance, the driver can essentially say "rub me" to initiate the in-situate massagers. Mercedes says Linguatronic has several options in more than twelve dialects for voice summons, bringing about a high probability the driver will hit the correct expression at the main endeavor.

Another new element of Linguatronic is the capacity to additionally accelerate picking the correct voice order. This capacity enables the driver to interfere with the framework's voice reaction to end the flow discourse and proceed onward to the following exchange step sooner. This makes voice control speedier and more effective.

At last, Mercedes has changed the Linguatronic framework with the goal that its voice reactions are more human-like. The framework abstains from rehashing a similar voice reactions, rather shifting its reactions between three or four conceivable alternatives.

Should I Buy Tickets From Ticketmaster or From a Broker?

March 21, 2018 0

With the ever-rising cost of tickets these days you may be wondering why anyone would use the services of a ticket broker instead of purchasing their tickets directly from TicketmasterTickets.com or the official box office. After all, ticket brokers sometimes charge much more than the 'face value' for a ticket. The truth is that sometimes purchasing your tickets from a box office instead of a ticket broker is your best option, but in reality, that is not true very often.
Purchasing tickets from a ticket outlet
Purchasing tickets from a source such as Ticketmaster or Tickets.com can be a crapshoot. If you wish to purchase your tickets from an authorized outlet Ticketmaster recommends that you "arrive at Ticket Centers no more than one hour in advance of the event on sale time" after which you will be entered into a "Random Number Distribution (RND) procedure... to determine line order at Ticket Centers if two or more customers are present to purchase tickets at the time the event goes on-sale." This procedure is generally referred to as a lottery, most likely because the results can be very similar. If you arrive at the ticket outlet after the random drawing you will be directed to the back of the line.
After the "lottery" is held the ticket sales representative will process ticket orders in the order determined. Each customer will tell the ticket agent what price range of seats he or she would like (the day tickets go on sale you may only select tickets by price, you will not have the option to choose any particular seating area), view a copy of the venue seating chart, and then the tickets will be printed and paid for. This process is being repeated at hundreds, if not thousands, of ticket locations throughout your area as well as on the internet and via phone while you are waiting for the customers ahead of to have their ticket order processed, diminishing the "pool" of available seats when it is finally your turn to order tickets.
You can avoid the "lottery" situation by purchasing your tickets from the box office online, but your results could be similar. Many online box office employ an image recognition system that displays a distorted image of a word you must type in to verify that you are a human and not a machine to in an attempt to prevent automated programs from purchasing tickets, but sometimes these systems can backfire on you presenting you with an image that is unreadable, thereby pushing you further back "in line."
Once you have selected tickets for purchase you will notice that there are often several additional fees you must pay including: "Facility Charge," "Convenience Charge," "Order Processing Fee," "Taxes", "Delivery Price." These fees vary and are all charged in addition to the "face value" of the ticket, but can often greatly increase the overall price per ticket.
Purchasing tickets from a ticket broker
Purchasing tickets from a ticket broker can also be a harrowing experience, especially if you have never used the services of a ticket broker before. First off, be forewarned that prices from a ticket broker are almost always above face value, and even above the total cost after adding in all of the miscellaneous fees. The reason for this is that box offices such as Ticketmaster or Tickets.com do not grant any special provileges to ticket brokers. Brokers do not receive discounts on tickets nor are any seats reserved for sale to ticket brokers. Because they do not receive any special treatment ticket brokers often have to work very hard to obtain good seats which in turn drives up the cost of their tickets.
In addition to purchasing tickets from the box office ticket brokers often buy tickets from people just like you who own really great season tickets or managed to purchase really great seats or maybe won them in a contest. In many cases brokers have many years worth of contacts with such people as well as within their own industry. In these cases the seller is generally looking to make a profit and sells the tickets to the broker at an inflated price. All of these factors, as well as market conditions affect the resale price of a ticket.
The good news is that when purchasing tickets from a ticket broker you generally have many more seating options to choose from allowing you to pick the exact seat location or budget that fits you. Additionally, a ticket broker will have tickets available for events that are sold out or don't even go on sale to the public, such as the Grammy Awards.
What should I do?
If you choose to go through an experienced, reputable ticket broker you will pay a few dollars more, but chances are that you will have a better overall purchase experience and end up with the seats that are just right for you. Many people feel that avoiding the box office hassle, as well as the memory of sitting in great seats is worth that extra cost.

Lockheed Martin developing cruise missile replacement for US army

Lockheed Martin developing cruise missile replacement for US army

Lockheed Martin might have lost out on coming up with America's next-generation ballistic missile, however the corporate has been elite to assist replace the vintage AGM-86 Air Launched bomb. The US$900 million US Air Force Technical Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) contract tasks the corporate with developing the technology required to make the nuclear-capable Long vary Stand Off (LRSO) missile.

If you have ever questioned why the u. s. still maintains fleets of significant bombers in associate age of super subtle anti-aircraft defenses, a part of the solution is that the AGM-86. Operational since 1986, the variants of the Boeing-built bomb allowed the bombers to still pay a key role as a leg of the nuclear deterrent triad.

Today, bombers just like the bomber area unit unlikely to be able to penetrate enemy airspace to drop nuclear or typical weapons on sites heavily defended by advanced anti-aircraft systems. however the air-launched AGM-86's compact Williams F107 turbojet engine reaction-propulsion engine, terrain-hugging radio detection and ranging navigation, and little radio detection and ranging signature enable bombers to square off and launch cruise missiles from over one,500 mi (2,400 km) to attack strategic targets.

The problem is that once thirty years, the fundamental style of the AGM-86 is noncurrent and also the existing fleet's service life ends in 2020. Since this may leave the bomber force while not a strategic mission, the Air Force is craving for a replacement with the LRSO program set to make a bomb capable of handling advanced integrated defense systems from a major standoff vary.

According to Lockheed, the TMRR contract can target developing required technologies, systems and subsystems for the new weapon to satisfy the Engineering, producing, and Development milestone in 2022.

"LRSO can offer future generation strategic deterrent missile for the air-launched portion of the nuclear triad," says David Helsel, LRSO program director at Lockheed Martin Missiles and readying. "Lockheed Martin's tried expertise in bomb and strategic systems technologies can offer the foremost reliable, capable, property and reasonable program in defense of our nation and our allies."

How To Mind Map Your Business

March 03, 2018 0

If you're doing business on the Web, sooner or later you'll probably begin to feel like a juggler trying to keep ten balls flying through the air at the same time. There are just too many elements in your business plan to keep them all going at once.
The solution?
For many people the solution would be to make a list of all the key elements in their business plan. But lists are linear and the Mind doesn't think in a linear fashion. The Mind thinks in terms of associations, hierarchy, image, color, form, and pattern. So to organize your ideas and generate new ideas, a Map is much more effective than a list. In fact, at the back of your Mind, you probably already have a vaguely-defined map of your online business. A Mind Map is simply a way of putting that structure down on paper.
Mind Mapping, also known as 'Radiant Thinking', is a technique that was developed in the 1970's by Tony Buzan. A Mind Map consists of a central word or concept, with 5 to 10 main ideas radiating out from that central concept.
Here's an example of a Mind Map for an Internet
Business.
At the center of a blank page are the words 'My Internet Business Plan', circled. Radiating out from those central words are seven key ideas, or Basic Organizing Ideas (BOIs): Search Engine Listings, Ezine Ads, Newsletter, Link Exchange, Writing Ezine Articles, Website, Affiliate Programs. Each of these BOIs is connected to the central circle by
outward-pointing arrows, like the branches of a tree.
Each Basic Ordering Idea sprouts a further set of
ideas, also connected by outward-pointing arrows, like twigs at the end of a branch. For example, the Basic Organizing Idea 'Ezine Ads' gives rise to four more ideas: 'Paid Ads, 'Ad Swaps', 'Free Ads', and 'Ad Tracking'. 'Ad Swaps' in turn gives rise to two more ideas, 'Newsletter' and 'Website' and so on. Each Basic Organizing Idea can become the center of another Mind Map.
In one sense, a Mind Map is simply a map of what you know about a given topic, in this case your online business. And so it's a very effective way of taking an 'inventory' of what you know about a particular subject at a given moment in time.
But a Mind Map also causes your brain to make
associations. Because each Basic Ordering Idea can
become the center of another Mind Map, a Mind Map is
capable of producing endless associations. In fact, if
you use a Mind Map, whether you're writing an Ezine
Article, writing an eBook, designing an entire
website, or writing a sales letter, it's virtually
impossible to get 'Writer's Block'; the very structure
of a Mind Map keeps giving rise to new associations.
Another key benefit of a Mind Map is that it helps you organize information hierarchically, in a way that is not possible with lists. The tree-like structure of a Mind Map is a hierarchy and in the process of arranging your information along the 'branches' and 'twigs' of a Mind Map, you'll get a much better grasp of the information you're dealing with.
So, to sum up, here are the basic techniques for drawing a Mind Map:
- 1. Place a central idea or concept in the middle of a
blank page, and circle it.
- 2. Jot down 5 to 10 Basic Ordering Ideas, radiating out
from the central concept.
- 3. Connect each Basic Ordering Idea to the central
concept with outward-pointing arrows.
- 4. As an aid to creating your Basic Ordering Ideas, ask
yourself: "If the central concept of my Mind Map were a
book, what would be the chapter headings?"
- 5. Each Basic Ordering Idea can become the center of
another Mind Map.

How To Maintain Your Re-Chargeable Batteries

March 01, 2018 0

How To Maintain Your Re-Chargeable Batteries

If you have rechargeable batteries, it's your responsibility to take good care of them, for them to give you a long service. The cool thing is that there are plenty of things you can do to make it possible. Some of the things you can do include:

Tips on how to maintain your batteries

There are plenty of stuff you should do. When making the purchase always remember that a rechargeable battery is as good as its charger; therefore, you should never fast charge it. When you charge your battery too fast, you put it at the risk of overheating which puts it in great danger of getting damaged.

Just as you should never fast charge the units, you also should never over discharge them. To be on the safe side, wait until they show the low battery signal. Don't wait until the charge is completely gone as it will destroy the battery.

You should be cautious of how you use the batteries. As rule of thumb, you should never mix different batteries. The best way of going about it is using batteries of the same capacity, brand, and chemistry. You also should never mix rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries as they have different voltages. This results in them damaging each other.

You should be cautious of how you charge the units. When it comes to the chargers, go for high-quality chargers that won't overcharge the units. For a great experience, work with high-quality smart chargers. You should regularly check the charging of the batteries to avoid charging them beyond the rated capacity. Some people make the mistake of leaving the batteries in the chargers for more than 24 hours. This shouldn't be you.

In the bid of maintaining the units in great shape, you should avoid using ultra-fast chargers. Keep off chargers offering 1-hour charge. In most cases, the fast chargers charge the batteries up to 70%. They don't charge it up to 100%.

Once every few months, you should discharge your battery fully and recharge it. This is to prevent the battery from forming crystals resulting to damage to the battery. You also should regularly use the batteries. You should note that when you don't use the units for long, crystals begin to form.

Mobilising Games to Go Global: Internationalisation and Localisation

September 19, 2017 0

The days of the Cold War are long past and have been replaced by the hotter topic of global warming. 'Colonisation' and 'Super-power' may actually have become dirty words in these days when global harmony and fair play are the mantras for our planet's survival.
However, in the last few years, there has been a new power entity slowly but steadily rising on the horizon: Enter the APP Store Super Power!
In 2014, Japan and South Korea made huge strides and surpassed the USA by revenue on Google Play. Reports put China at #3 by revenue on the Apple App store. South East Asia is a HUGE emerging market- Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam account for almost all the game revenue in this area of the planet.
What is the takeaway from all this?
1. Language is no barrier.
2. The appeal of gaming and mobile gaming is a worldwide phenomenon.
3. Big bucks are involved and this means cutthroat competition and planning in minute detail to drive successful apps and games.
4. Game and app internationalization and localisation drive mobility in apps and games.
5. Not least of all, the quest of humans for easy entertainment is now quite literally in the palms of the hands- holding the mobile phone. Never has the opposable thumb been put to such vigorous use.
The game must go on!
A stationary stone gathers moss
The driving force behind any business is profit. The gaming world is no different. This is a highly competitive world and the gaming market is killer. To survive, evolve, and bring home the bacon, apps and games need not just to be entertaining to the boy-next-door: they need to capture new platforms and markets. And they need to be fast and furious about it or fall by the wayside.
How can they do this?
Internationalistion and localisation
This two-step process is what enables a game to adapt to different regional and linguistic cultures. It must include:
Reviewing the language and regional settings which will determine which localisation is used as well as the date, time, and number formats.
Adapting the user interface
The code must handle multi-language text
Locale (not the language) settings must drive data formatting as multiple countries might use the same language, as also the same individual travelling across different countries.
User interface must be 'mirrored' while using right to left languages; the only exception here would probably be phone numbers.
It is also necessary to test the internationalized app or game to detect auto-layout problems and strings that are not part of the internationalization-localisation process.
Enjoyment MUST be stress-free
Gaming is for enjoyment; the gamer cannot be subjected to a confusing, frustrating experience. There is no place, either, for being culturally and politically improper or downright offensive. Game localisation must also ensure that the translated, internationalized, localized version be faithful to the original.
Many gamers take their gaming very seriously. Game localisation, including those on mobile platforms (iOS localisation or Android), should enable players to immerse themselves completely. The whole enjoyment in gaming is to transport the player to a world of fantasy more appealing than reality, where lives can be replenished in battles with strange creatures in exotic lands unknown! Nothing should interrupt this 'willing suspension of disbelief.'
Localisation must be from the word GO
Game localisation cannot be an afterthought and game developers would benefit from shedding the 'let's see' attitude. Successful developers have understood that video game localisation is an integral part of the development cycle along with coding, designing, or writing. In the very early stages when games were designed and played on limited and limiting platforms, this 'afterthought status' might have been acceptable. But with the proliferation of mobile technology, and the increasing demand for games across linguistic, cultural and geographical borders, video game localisation has come into its own.
Localisation- NOT translation
It must be amply clear by now that game internationalisation and localisation is not just about language. It encompasses cultural symbols, costumes, ethos, environment... everything that goes up to make civilisations, in fact!
There are many pitfalls to be avoided:
Concerns of piracy and the importance of timely capturing of markets may drive translations on incomplete games. Context must be clear while translating text whatever the stage of game development. The complete picture should be kept in mind.
Localisation must be a consideration early in game development as cultural concepts must be clear from Day 1. For example: scantily clad female characters may be an issue in some countries. If this is not considered early in the design cycle, it could turn into a costly, untreatable headache when the game has to move to more socially conservative markets.
Games must evolve with current events. Consider the example of how a spate of pedophilia cases in Belgium discouraged the use of the word 'pedometer' in a game on weight-loss because of the negative connotation such a prefix had.
Separate text files make the game moddable and the translated versions can be pasted on the localized version.
A text-freeze or cut-off date for text changes is a very good idea to control translation costs and keep game development on schedule.
Be aware of cultural issues, taboos and sensitivities from the very beginning.
Accents are important for voice overs. A cowboy with a Texan twang is ludicrous in a video game meant for the Chinese market.
Who does the localisation? Game developers pour millions into game development. So, it makes no sense to cut corners when it comes to video game localisation to make inroads into new markets.
Cheap translations aimed at cost control may result in a complete flop show and make the developer an international laughing stock.
Whether it is artwork, translation, marketing, packaging, or bridging the cultural gap, it is very skilled work which is the domain of trained and talented professionals.
Time is of the absolute essence to capture the mood of markets.
Discretion and trust are absolutely necessary to combat the evil threat of piracy which looms large on intellectual property.

Ways to Make Your Gaming Experience Safe

September 19, 2017 0

Games are an indispensable part of our life. Right from the kids to the elders, we are all interested in games. And the credit goes to that introduction of games in desktops. Nowadays, there are several devices that have been introduced in the attempt to recreate gaming experience on the go. They are of great use but to my belief, none can recreate the experience that PC games offer. They are interesting and with them, you are sure to forget everything else.
Only playing games would not do. You also have to maintain the security and safety being a conscious gamer. If you play online then there are several threats that might attack your PC. So you need to know some hacks that make gaming safer. Let us guide you with some of them.
Check the Links
If you are an online player and interact with many such players then you have to be sure that you are dealing with a genuine site. Check the URL if it is having a locked symbol in green color. This is a simple way that demarcates that all your data on the PC is safe. Do not use links that might be linked to several pages. Try to avoid links whose main page can be reached after visiting several pages.
No Personal Information, Please!
There are games that ask for personal information. It is normal to ask your gender and age but if the game goes way too far try avoiding it. Don't use too much personal information because that can lead to duplication or misuse of identity. So, try to provide minimum information that is of least importance. Also, avoid sharing your location while you are playing online.
Use Antivirus Systems
New viruses are being invented almost every day. So, prevention is a must. The easiest and hassle free way to make your PC and any gaming safe is by using antivirus or internet security systems. This will prevent any unauthorised access to the infected or highly malicious sites. Even if some threats try to attack the system will automatically prevent it and make it safe. Having an antivirus will prevent duplication of data because of any breach of the security.
